Ecumenical Hunger Program

Ecumenical Hunger Program

Since 1975, the Ecumenical Hunger Program (EHP) has helped families and individuals experiencing economic and personal hardship. EHP is a private, non-profit, community-based organization located in East Palo Alto that works in partnership with families to provide immediate and long-term assistance such as food, clothing, and household essentials to those in need in East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Palo Alto.  EHP serves working families, seniors, those on fixed incomes, and people facing illnesses and other crises.

EHP plays a major role in both advocating for, and providing referrals to resources available to these families and individuals in our community.

VPC donates Mission funds to EHP, and at Thanksgiving, collects turkeys and other food, and our youth delivers it to the families.

This holiday season, due to extreme need in the community, VPC continues to collect food and grocery gift cards for EHP. Please Contact the church office with your donation.

Community BlockFest and Open House

Celebrating 35 years of Community Service

September 25, 2010 from 1:00 – 5:00 PM

EHP Campus, 2411 Pulgas Avenue

(with portions of Weeks Street blocked off

East Palo Alto, CA, 94303

The event will celebrate our clients, supporters, and most especially, our hard-working EHP staff.  There will be food, music, dancing, and educational booths with information on nutrition, health and services offered by local organizations, and a book give-away. Guided tours of our facility will take place throughout the day.

We would be delighted to have you as our guest.  In addition, we need your help for this event to be successful. While it is free for the whole EHP community, we are seeking financial donations to underwrite the costs to produce this event.

All who come to EHP are in desperate need and all are treated with compassion and dignity.  For over three decades EHP has provided basic services to our neighbors in need. We are a private, non-profit community-based organization that provides hundreds of struggling families in the East Palo Alto and mid-peninsula area with food, clothing, furniture, household essentials, and counseling, at no cost.

Please help us sustain EHP as EHP sustains the community.  All donations are welcome.  If you are able to sponsor the Block Party/ Community Fest, support levels are:

$5000 EHP Event Sponsor

$1000 EHP Community Sponsor

$500 EHP Neighbor Sponsor

$250 EHP Friend Sponsor
$100 EHP Supporter

If you would like to be a be a sponsor, help with the event, or request a booth to showcase your business or organization, please contact Lesia Preston, Executive Director @ 650 323-7781. Thank you very much for supporting us for 35 years!  Together we can continue the mission of EHP to provide critical services to our neighbors in need, especially in these difficult times.

With appreciation,
Susan Schofield, EHP Board President
