Four times a year, VPC prepares and serves a home-cooked dinner to the residents at Maple Street Shelter in Redwood City. It's a great opportunity to include entire families in mission work, as the residents really enjoy having kids participate, and the VPC families have a wonderful time getting to know each other.
This is truly a rewarding opportunity that will not only provide you a deep sense of meaning and community, but will also create a lasting impact in every life you help at the shelter. We are told that the residents enjoy the fresh vegetables and fruits and high-quality main dishes (with and without meat) that are served by the Sunday volunteers.
Maple Street Shelter is a program of Shelter Network, and VPC supports Shelter Network with both funds and volunteers. To learn more about Shelter Network, click here
