Organic Ethiopian

Equal Exchange’s first-ever offering from the birthplace of coffee, Ethiopia. Grown in the southern state of Sidama, this exotic and complex coffee has heavy body, gentle acidity and hints of vanilla, black pepper and raspberry, and lives up to Ethiopian coffee's well-deserved reputation for excellence. This Ethiopian roast joins our other organic coffees: Breakfast Blend, Decaf, Love Buzz, French Roast (now offered in 2lb whole bean packaging along with 10oz whole bean and drip), Colombian, Mind, Body and Soul, and Sisters’ Blend.

Conventional Tanzanian

Wild and exotic, the sweet spicy aroma of this East Africa coffee, grown at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, is heavy and multi-dimensional. This coffee is rich, and the complexity is layered with vanilla, molasses, and hints of cherry and maple. Assertive and thick with a snappy bite. (Full City Roast)

This Tanzanian roast compliments our other conventional coffees:  Café Salvador (from the coops our group visited in ’06) and Decaf Colombian.

Pyramid Teas:

These 100% small farmer teas comes in special pyramid-shaped biodegradable bags that allow for larger leaf teas and better extraction.

Organic Breakfast Blend Pyramid Tea

The Uva Region of Sri Lanka, located well above 4,000 feet, is known for its complex black teas. This breakfast tea from Uva has a fragrant aroma, dark amber liquor, pleasant astringency, and a rich, malty flavor.

Organic Ceylon Chai Pyramid Tea

This authentic chai combines the spicy flavors of ginger, cardamom, and black pepper with the sweetness of cinnamon and the rich, malt flavor of black tea. The tea and spices in this blend come from small-scale farmers in Sri Lanka.

Organic Ceylon Green Pyramid Tea

This large leaf green tea from Sri Lanka has a smooth flavor with pleasant sweetness and mild astringency. Green teas contain antioxidants, which are known to promote good health.

Organic Wild Rooibos Pyramid Tea  *Naturally Caffeine-Free*

Wild Rooibos is only harvested by a few farmers in the entire world. This rich, red tea has a fruity character with vanilla overtones and is naturally caffeine free. Rooibos contains antioxidants, which are known to promote good health.

Organic Ceylon High Grown Black Loose Leaf Tea

The large leaf black tea has a fragrant aroma, a dark amber liquor, pleasant astringency, and a rich, malty flavor. The tea is sourced from the high mountains of the celebrated Uva region in Sri Lanka.

Organic Ceylon Green Loose Leaf Tea

The large leaf green tea has a smooth flavor with pleasant sweetness and mild astringency. Green Teas contain anti-oxidants, which are known to promote good health.

These teas are handpicked by the members of the Small Organic Farmers Association in Sri Lanka.

Organic Darjeeling First Flush

This first flush Darjeeling tea has a floral and spicy aroma, a light golden liquor, delicate astringency and subtle notes of the classic Darjeeling muscatel flavor. First Flush refers to the first harvest of the year in the Darjeeling Region.  

Organic Darjeeling Second Flush Loose Leaf Tea (THE CREAM OF THE CROP!)

This second flush Darjeeling tea has a floral aroma, a golden liquor, balanced astringency, and carries the classic Darjeeling muscatel flavor. Second Flush refers to the second, and most prized, harvest of the year in the Darjeeling region.

These teas are handpicked by the farmer members of the Sanjukta Vikas and Pashok Cooperatives in Darjeeling, India.

Organic Spicy Hot Cocoa

Deliciously spicy twist on hot cocoa that combines cocoa with cinnamon and cayenne pepper for cocoa with a kick!

Crafted using organic cacao (cocoa beans) from small-scale farmers in the Dominican Republic and organic sugar cane from small-scale farmers in Paraguay.

Organic Drinking Chocolate

Made with chocolate liquor (*no alcohol content), roasted and finely ground cacao (cocoa beans), to give you an exquisite chocolate experience. With a 57% cacao content, this hot chocolate is intensely rich and should be slowly sipped and savored (it’s like sipping a melted dark chocolate bar!).

Crafted using organic cacao from small-scale farmers in the Dominican Republic and Peru and organic sugar cane from small-scale farmers in Paraguay.
