Caring for the Elderly

Partners in Caring (Stanford Hospital and Clinics)

Partners in Caring (PIC) provides carefully screened volunteers to give practical and emotional support to help individuals remain independent at home. Volunteers provide such services as transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, meal assistance, friendly visiting, light housekeeping and caregiver relief. PIC is a Faith in Action National program initially funded through Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

VPC has been supporting PIC with donations, volunteers, and referrals since 1996. PIC is a joint partnership with Stanford Hospital and the Avenidas senior center in Palo Alto.
