Our worship theme for 2009-10 is "Grace in This Place."
Worship
Worship is the heart and soul of Valley Church. Worship is eclectic and energetic. It is Biblically based, Christ centered, and arts driven. We try to stay open to the moving of the Spirit. We honor the history and tradition of the Reformed Protestant faith, but we are not constricted by that tradition. Preaching is well prepared, yet improvisational, and the sermons speak to contemporary life and issues. Both of our preachers have theater backgrounds and love to tell stories. Our music program is among the finest on the Peninsula. On any Sunday you may experience dance, drama, visual arts, music of different genres, children everywhere, and centering prayer or lectio divina. And in it all, God’s presence, grace, challenge, and comfort is experienced.
WORSHIP SERVICE - 10:45 - 11:45 am
A traditional service with 150-250 people held in the sanctuary. A time for quiet meditation and prayer begins at 10:30 am. Chancel Choir provides music throughout the church year. Children are welcome to sit with their parents and then are excused to Sunday School following the Children's Time. On Communion Sundays (usually the first Sunday of each month) children go straight to Sunday School at 10:45 am.
