Click picture to see more photos of the sanctuary

Celebrate your wedding with this spectacular view of our redwood grove as a backdrop for your ceremony of love and commitment.

OUR WEDDING MINISTRY

We are delighted with the possibility of sharing in the celebration of your love and marriage. You do not need to be members of our church family in order to be married in our sanctuary; however, it is necessary that the ceremony be a Christian Service. Please note, we cannot accommodate requests for communion or receptions.

Wedding Dates/Times:

Weddings are held on Saturdays and Sundays.  Starting times for Saturday ceremonies are: 12:00, 2:30 and 5:00 pm. Sunday ceremonies begin at 2:30 and 5:00 pm.  If you are interested in a non-weekend day, check with our wedding coordinator for availability.  Currently, in addition to many openings throughout 2008 and 2009, we have wedding times available for  Saturday, August 9, 2008 and Valentine's Day 2009 To schedule your wedding, please contact our wedding coordinator, who will be happy to discuss specific dates and times.

Officiating Ministers:

It is our church policy that one of our staff ministers officiates at all weddings that take place in our Sanctuary. You may have a guest minister assist in the service, but our Staff Minister would be the person responsible for performing the duties of the officiating minister.  All couples will need to meet with their assigned Officiant in advance to plan the ceremony.

The following are all included in our fee:

  • Marriage Preparation Workshop
  • Wedding staff consisting of the Officiant, Wedding Coordinator, Wedding Hostess, Organist/Pianist, and Custodian
  • Optional decorations include a white or red cloth aisle runner, a white silk floral arrangement for the Communion Table, candelabra stands with candles, unity candles and holders, white ribbon pew decorations
  • Use of Bride and Groom dressing facilities

Each couple has use of the sanctuary for a 2.5 hour period, starting one hour before the wedding ceremony begins and extending an additional 1.5 hours including the ceremony. Please note due to limited parking the ideal number of wedding guests we can accommodate is up to 225.  If you anticipate a higher number of guests, talk with our wedding coordinator.

For wedding fees through 2008 contact our wedding coordinator.   In addition to the fee, each couple is invited to make a tax deductible donation to the work and mission of Valley Presbyterian Church.

Marriage Preparation Workshop

The church policy is that ALL COUPLES who wish to be married in our church participate in our premarital counseling program. This is a one day two-part program, one on the Theology of a Christian marriage; the other on Communication and Intimacy. The workshops are all held on Saturdays, beginning at 9:00 AM and conclude at 3:00 PM. The schedule for 2008 is:

  • Saturday, May 17, 200 - CANCELED
  • Saturday, June 21, 2008 - REVISED DATE
  • Saturday, September 20, 2008
  • Saturday, January 17, 2009
