Summer Work Day & New Mission Partner Possibility!
Supporting Vida Verde Connects Youth with the Land
This summer, members of VPC’s Justice & Outreach and Earth Care Teams are considering adding Vida Verde as a VPC mission partner. Its mission is to promote educational equity by providing free overnight environmental learning experiences for students who don’t otherwise get the opportunity.
Join us as we explore building with Vida Verde!
All ages are welcome, including children with their parents. We will work in the garden (turning over a bed, mulching, etc.), on facilities projects (fixing a fence, graveling a road, etc.), or on a project associated with the current construction of the Education Barn.
BYO lunch — we will picnic together there!

Since 2001, Vida Verde has served thousands of Bay Area youth from historically marginalized communities through their core program — a three-day, two-night camping trip, taken as a class during the school year. Their Teen and Family program extends this work with a week-long teen leadership summer camp, along with activities throughout the year.
Believing that the future of the environment is tethered to connecting the diverse youth of today to the outdoors, VPC plans to support this high-quality outdoor education program.
