Do you ever sit in church on Sunday and imagine yourself standing behind the lectern, leading the congregation in the Call to Worship? Have you ever thought, “I could be one of those people who reads Scripture, but no one ever asks me!”? Are you looking for a way to serve the VPC community without a major time commitment?
Well, you don’t have to be an official member—or even an adult—to be a liturgist (i.e. a reader) on Sunday morning! Anyone who feels called to share their voices in worship can sign up. Or maybe you’re a past or present Deacon or Elder of the church thinking, “I could commit to serving communion every once in a while!”. The time commitment for both liturgist and communion server is low, but the impact on the community is huge.
Or, perhaps you could commit to being an Usher or a Greeter on Sunday morning. There is no minimum time requirement. We’d love to see a diversity of faces helping with worship throughout the year, no matter your age or background. Don’t be shy — email us to add your name to the list of individuals who feel called to be part of the VPC community and we’ll work with your schedule.
