Worship at Valley
"I came that you might have life, and have it in all its fullness."
The life Jesus showed us cannot be lived alone: we are called to live in community. No matter what goes on in our lives during the week, we come home to ourselves and to God each Sunday morning to be made whole again in worship and in community.
We connect to God and one another through hearing God’s Word, listening to challenging and lively sermons, singing uplifting music, watching inspiring performing arts, celebrating Communion, and in fellowship. In short, we come together to praise God and pray with and for one another.
Worship is the center of our experience at Valley Presbyterian Church.
Wholeness and Wellbeing
We long to be the people God created us to be. We celebrate the spark of God within us, and embrace the extraordinary grace of Jesus Christ that heals and makes us whole. We honestly name and try to rectify the places of darkness in our lives. We honor life by striving to be healthy in our personal lives and living in loving relationships of respect, forgiveness, and hope.
Our mission approach promotes wholeness and healing within Christ's church. We allow God's grace to transform us, individually and as a group, and to help us humbly reach out to our brothers and sisters, sharing with each other our suffering, our resources, and our love. We give 20% of our revenues to mission in the wider world.
The Creative Arts
Each of us is made in the image of God; we are co-creators. With a talented community of artists, musicians, writers, and theater folk, we are indeed blessed. We are well-known for our outstanding music and theater arts programs, which include an independent theater conservatory and regular community theater productions. Portola Valley Theatre Conservatory
We are committed to providing hands-on service experience for our members. Among other initiatives, VPC has partnerships with sister churches in the Tenderloin of San Francisco and on the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. We have provided Habitat for Humanity with major funding and hands-on support for more than 20 years. Mission at Valley
