All Five Preschool

PREVENT THE OPPORTUNITY GAP IN EARLY EDUCATION

The dream of All Five Preschool was birthed in the pews of Valley Presbyterian Church by Carol Thomsen. All Five is a new, innovative preschool in Menlo Park promoting diversity and the richness of a heterogenous classroom. Fees are on a sliding scale to allow families with a variety of incomes to benefit from this experience.

Contact Alice Chiang to volunteer to read to children or support this happy place!

Bill Wilson Center

GIVING KIDS A CHANCE

Bill Wilson Center has a variety of programs designed to help kids break patterns that lead them to lives of poverty and dependence, and instead concentrate on getting back into school, into job training, into safe housing, and away from drugs. Each Christmas, Valley Presbyterian families participate in Bill Wilson Center’s Adopt a Family program where donors are paired with foster families to give gifts to foster children. Contact Anita Wotiz to help with the Christmas program or to volunteer at the Bill Wilson Center.

St. Anthony's Padua Dining Room

SERVING THE COMMUNITY

St. Anthony Padua Dining Room in Menlo Park serves meals to the hungry and homeless, while addressing the problems of poverty and homelessness. They provide over 500 free hot lunches a day, Monday through Saturday from 11am-1pm. Contact Rich Minidgo to volunteer to prepare or serve lunch on any Friday.

The St. Francis Center

HELPING BAY AREA FAMILIES

The St. Francis Center of Redwood City is a nonprofit organization helping families in need to live in dignity and become self-supporting members of the community. Founded in 1986, the St. Francis Center provides the local community with essential services such as housing, food, clothing and education. Each Christmas VPC families select an “angel” from our Angel Tree and buy a gift for that child to be delivered to St. Francis Center. Contact Emily Walling to help with the Christmas program and learn more about other volunteer opportunities at the St. Francis Center.
